YAY!!! Finally, a coconut oil free, nut oil free, MINERAL based, facial sunscreen! This sunscreen/moisturizer is packed with nourishing, antioxidant-rich ingredients, that won't leave you skin with a white film. As a matter of fact - many ladies have told us this replaces their primer due to it filling in their pores so well!
Mineral options typically include ingredients like zinc oxide, which create a physical barrier to protect the skin from the sun. Dermatologists agree that when used correctly, mineral formulations can be effective and are safe even for children and sensitive skin. The Daydream Facial Moisturizer With SPF falls under the mineral sunscreen category.
You can buy this with our Sweet Dreams Glow Balm and make it a Dream Team Duo!
During summer months you may need to place our face balms in the fridge for a few hours to harden up. We do not use artificial solidfiers so they may become soft if exposed to heat for too long. They are fine to use still, they just need to firm back up.
Directions
This is the last step in your skincare regimen. Start with a pea-sized amount at tip of fingers. Rub fingers together to warm up product (make sure fingers are clean so as not to transfer bacteria into the container). Apply onto face and neck in one, thin layer. A little goes a long way! Reapply as needed.
Ingredients

What about SPF?
I do not have the equipment to scientifically measure levels of SPF, however, through all of the research I have done, I can tell you that this sunscreen has an SPF of at least 20, probably higher. This is a broad spectrum sunscreen and will provide protection from both UVA and UVB sun rays.
Did you know that the higher the SPF number does not really mean more effective coverage? Really, it’s true! Do a quick (scholarly) Google search! I have learned that SPF protection does not increase proportionally to an increase in SPF. For example, an SPF of 2 absorbs 50% of UV rays, an SPF of 15 absorbs 93%, and an SPF of 34 absorbs 97% of UV rays. Interesting, right?
Several articles claim that mineral, handcrafted sunscreens are harmful. Their reasoning is that you can’t verify the SPF of homemade sunscreens, so the chance of burning is higher.
I certainly agree that my handcrafted sunscreen does not have the lab testing that conventional ones do, but you know what else they don’t have? Endocrine disruptors, horrible inactive ingredients, fragrances made from who knows what, and coral-killing compounds!
Also, sunscreen should be used as a final means of protection, as utilizing shade, covering up with long sleeves + a hat, and getting out of the sun during peak hours of the day, are most effective.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should this product last me?
It depends on how much you use. If you use it just on your face, neck, and décolleté area, one container usually lasts around 3 months.
Is this waterproof?
Not to swim in a pool all day. You will definitely want to reapply it. The beeswax does add a protective moisture barrier, but there are no artificial chemicals in this product to cause it to stick to the skin.
What is the shelf life?
Since we do not use artificial preservatives, the shelf life is about 6-9 months if stored properly and is not contaminated by dirty fingers being dipped into it. Do not store in a hot place. In a medicine cabinet and out of direct sunlight is best. If you happen to leave it in your mailbox during summer for too long, do not open it - put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes, then open and apply. There are no artificial solidifiers in it, so it can become soft. If after 6 months, it starts to smell off or the consistency changes, it is time to buy another one.
