Sweet Dreams Glow Balm

The lavender option is not a strong lavender smell. The scent is mild, but will be more evident once the product is warmed up and applied to skin.

This beautifully colored organic balm can be used during the daytime, but keep in mind that it is a thicker balm and not lightweight like our Repair Cream. During colder months, our Sweet Dreams Glow Balm may need to be warmed up a bit before applying. Scoop out a small amount and massage it between cleansed fingers before applying to the face.

During warmer months or if traveling through warm states to get to you, it may need to sit at room temperature for 24 hours before solidifying. You can also stick it in the fridge for about 1/2 an hour and it’ll firm right back up. We do not use artificial solidifiers.

Directions

Warm a pea-sized amount with clean fingers and apply to face and neck. This is the last step of your skincare routine. Can be used nightly or whenever your skin needs some extra moisture. A little goes a long way!

Borage seed oil contains 23% gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which helps to speed up cell regeneration - great ingredient to help age gracefully!

It takes one ton of prickly pears to produce one liter of oil! Crazy, right? Thankfully, it is a sustainable crop! Each seed has a small amount of oil (4%), making it one of the most sought after after oils. We only use organic oils, which ensures no hidden nasties get into our products from pesticides and other chemicals used on non organic farms. Also, organic oils can be up to 5 times more potent than non organic! 

This nutrient-rich balm is mostly used to nourish and lock in moisture as the last step of a skincare routine. It can also be used several different ways. See video below!

Where would this fit in with my skin care routine?

You would want to apply it as your last step. You would put it on over your serum.

Does this replace my serum?

I like to apply it over my serum at night during winter months. It helps to lock in all the benefits of the serum while delivering a LOT of hydration.

Any there any essential oils in it? Coconut oil?

No essential oils or coconut oil. Coconut oil is comedogenic (meaning it does clog pores). All of the oils in our Glow Balm are noncomedogenic.

Does it smell?

Very mildly. It smells almost sweet. There is no added fragrance or essential oils in it, giving it a very subtle scent. I would even say “unscented,” but some people have sensitive noses, so I would explain it as mildly sweet.

Is this just for face? What about hands?

Great for any dry spots on the body.

Are there various shades available?

No, this goes on clear. It won’t change or add to your skin tone. It will just give you a nice glow.

Why is this good for eczema and rosacea?

Eczema can flare up due to dry skin and many other factors. This balm is great for inflamed and irritated skin due to the organic oils in it (organic ensures no nasty pesticides are in the oils that can cause more issues). It will not clog pores, making it a great option for skin that needs to be nourished, but still needs to “breathe.”

Can it be used every night?

Most definitely! During the wintertime, I use it every night. If you have dry skin, you might find that you want to use it year-round. During the summer, I switch to my repair cream over the serum at night.

Would this be used as a serum or a moisturizer?

It would be used as a moisturizer. You would apply this as your last step.

Would I apply this over my Repair Cream or use it alone?

This is much different than the Repair Cream. The repair cream is extremely nourishing, but really lightweight. You would want to apply this over the repair cream if you want to use both.

I find that using the Repair Cream during the day when I do not need SPF, or during the other times of the year when my skin does not get dry, works best. The Repair Cream is more like a lightweight lotion; the Glow Balm is a thicker moisturizer. Think of this as an overnight hydration mask! It will mask your skin with amazing balmy-ness.

How long does one container last?

If used every night as the directions suggest, it should last up to six months or longer. 

What is the shelf life?

Since we do not use artificial preservatives, the shelf life is about 6-9 months if stored properly and is not contaminated by dirty fingers being dipped into it. Do not store in a hot place. In a medicine cabinet and out of direct sunlight is best. If you happen to leave it in your mailbox during summer for too long, do not open it - put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes, then open and apply. There are no artificial solidifiers in it, so it can become soft. If after 6 months, it starts to smell off or the consistency changes, it is time to buy another one.
